The news that May's inaugural Tour de Yorkshire will run through parts of the Thirsk & Malton constituency on two of the three stages has been warmly welcomed by its Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, Kevin Hollinrake.
On May 1st, the route from Bridlington to Scarborough includes Hunmanby, Dalby Forest, Thornton Dale, Pickering & Rosedale Abbey; the next day will see the Tour coming from Selby to York through Wharram, North Grimston, Norton (near Malton), Buttercrambe and Gate Helmsley.
Kevin commented,
"I am thrilled that many parts of Thirsk & Malton will feature in Le Tour de Yorkshire.
Last year the Grand Depart of the Tour de France gave us the opportunity to demonstrate the beauty of our county and the hospitality, imagination and resourcefulness of Yorkshire folk. I am sure that we will rise to the challenge once again when the race passes through some of the most beautiful parts of North Yorkshire. "
